'Waking Up Dead' Documentary Featuring Ex-SKID ROW Drummer: More Cities Added
August 8, 2005Two more cities were added to the theatrical run of "Waking Up Dead", the new documentary featuring former SAIGON KICK/SKID ROW drummer Phil Varone.
The film will make its Miami-Ft. Lauderdale premiere on Thursday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the AMC Ritz 8, located at 9200 SR 84. Phil Varone and director Fabio Jafet will attend the opening night. That special viewing will also include a T-shirt and autographed poster.
On Saturday, September 10 there will be a red carpet premiere in Hollywood, California at the Cine Space Theater, located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd. An after-party will be held in Hollywood following the screening.
Director Fabio Jafet says, "We have been having difficulties getting the movie released on a national scale because of the extreme content, we are happy to have progressive cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Miami take on the film and hope that more theaters will show the guts to play this.”

The film takes the viewer through four turbulent years in the life of Phil Varone, former drummer for the rock bands SAIGON KICK and SKID ROW.
The soundtrack includes TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland),MATT KRAMER (ex-SAIGON KICK),BEFORE BRAILLE, FIVESPEED, RANDY COLEMAN, JOHNNY SOLINGER, MINDFLOWER, CREASE, F5 (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson) and BONNIE MCKEE.
